GINI MEAN DIFFERENCE AND EWMA CHARTS

Abstract: : For an improved monitoring of process parameters, an EWMA control charting scheme is proposed. The proposal introduces Gini mean difference based EWMA control scheme for location and scale parameters using asymptotic limits. The comparison of the proposed schemes are made with the EWMA control schemes based on sample range R, sample standard deviation S and Downton’s estimator used by Khoo (2004).
