An Approach To ANOM Chart

Abstract:
The study proposes a scheme for the structure of Analysis of Means (ANOM) chart assuming normality. A comparison of proposed scheme is made with the well known existing range and standard deviation based schemes for the design structure of ANOM chart. The effect of departure from normality is also examined on the three schemes for the design structure of ANOM chart. It is observed that all the three schemes result into same state of statistical significance in case of normal data. In case of departure from normality the proposed scheme shows the most robust behavior among three schemes under consideration.
